We understand each garden site is unique and our creative approach can overcome any perceived limitations. We work within the context of the site and apply sustainable practices wherever practical, including: water harvesting and grey water systems, lawn-to-meadow conversion, water wise plant palettes, edible gardens, and material reuse.

Whether we're working with a design of our own creation or your preferred designer, we are experienced with many different styles - from formal to naturalistic to contemporary or exotic. We adapt our approach to suit your preference and bring your outdoor space to life.

About SEED

John Rigney founded SEED Landscaping in 2012. The company name was inspired by the new beginnings taking root in his life at the time - as a newlywed, new father and entrepreneur.

With nearly two decades of landscape experience in the Bay Area, John takes great pride in creating beautiful gardens for people to enjoy. His hands-on approach and meticulous attention to detail ensures the highest quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction.

John draws inspiration from the natural beauty of California to convey a feeling of timelessness and a sense of place in his landscapes, naturally blending gardens into their surrounding environment. He received a B.S. in landscape architecture and resource conservation from the University of California at Berkeley.
